Rad Music // MS MR

leave a comment »

MS MR is a new band I really like. Their sound is a perfect blend of dark simple sound of The XX and the orchestrated soul of jj.

Their newest song, “Hurricane” is hypnotic. They have a four song demo EP that is perfect, start to finish. My favorites are “Bones” and their cover of Patrick Wolfe’s “Time of My Life.”

Watch the video for “Hurricane” below to get hypnotized. And give their demo, Ghost City USA, a listen. If you like it, head over to their Bandcamp to download it.

Rad Design // Plugbook by Dave Hakkens

leave a comment »

Plug strips – I know I’ve battled them my entire life and chances are you have too. Their long, phallic design never allowed for convenient or economic placement nor storage. They are just a big pain. But the Plugbook, designed by Dave Hakkens, is a product aimed to alleviate any and all pain associated with using and storing plug strips.

The Plugbook is a plug strip containing two electrical receptacles and two USB charge ports. It is designed in the shape of a book with an integrated, self-recoiling power cable that, when not in use, is hidden inside the “book” itself. This little guy can be stored amongst your books and no one will ever know. I think it is a truly genius idea.

The Plugbook is currently on Kickstarter, so head on over to get the complete details of the project and see if it is something you might want to invest it.

Kindess just released a new music video for “House” – easily my favorite song off their debut album World, You Need A Change of Mind. It is rad and will undoubtedly put a smile on your face.

Rad Music // Fear Of Tigers

leave a comment »

Fear Of Tigers is the musical project of Ben Berry. His music is packed with energy that brings about nothing but happy feelings and the delightful desire to dance. I may be a few years late on this, but I have honestly been obsessed about his debut album Cossus Snufsigalonica ever since I first heard about it month ago: I’ve been listening to it non-stop I tell you!

With my interest peaked, I found some tribute music videos that are basically the tracks from the album paired with edited montages of 80′s movies! If the music wasn’t good enough, these videos definitely got me hooked. Watch the videos for “Please Don’t Leave” and “Friday Night At Geek Club” below for a taste of what Fear Of Tigers is all about.

And to make everything that much better, Fear of Tigers will let you have his album for FREE! Right here.

Fear of Tigers is also gearing up for a new album, so be sure to head over to his Sound Cloud page to give some demos a listen. He’s also over on Facebook and Twitter.

Rad Music // Mr. Oizo – Stade 3 EP

leave a comment »

Mr. Oizo just released a new EP on his new website (see above). It is titled STADE 3. It is free and it is pretty typical Mr. Oizo stuff. Bleeps, bloops, and miniscule amounts of likeable music that you actually, somehow, end up liking. You must experience his new website – www.oizo3000.com – YOU MUST! I wonder what came first, the idea for the site or the EP?

Check out the teaser video for STADE 3 below. It’s got a Flat Eric, a rad boombox, and some actor you’ll recognize but not know the name of.

Be Rad. Enjoy.

PS: If his website isn’t working, lurk around his Facebook for easier download links…
