Rad Video // The Most Astounding Fact with Neil deGrasse Tyson
Neil deGrasse Tyson is an accomplished and acclaimed astrophysicist, who is, to say the least, enthusiastic about Science.
The video below is a video remix of sorts, with Dr. Tyson answering the question, “What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?” With some accompanying visuals and music added by Max Schlickenmeyer, the video is a profoundly eloquent vignette that truly demonstrates the grandeur that Science has to offer. Do watch.
This single question was taken from Time Magazine’s “10 Questions with Neil deGrasse Tyson” which you can watch here.

Rad Music // Goldfish – We Come Together
Two things I can not go a day without are upbeat music and video games. So, when these two things are combined, really, I struggle to avoid them.
Here is where Goldfish comes in.
Goldfish are a duo, comprised of Dom Peters and David Poole, out of South Africa, who have both been playing music since the tender age of six. Their most recent endeavor is the amazing video for their song, “We Come Together (feat. Sakhile Moleshe).” The video is jam packed with a myriad video game character and pop culture references all stylized in that timeless video game art form: 8-bit. I’ve watched it a few times and seem to find someone or something new each time. It’s a really rad video! The video is one thing, but the song is equally as rad. A mix of styles, Goldfish really let their South African souls come out with notable influences of jazz, samba, and electronic music reaching the surface of eager eardrums. The song skims along the line of cheezy, but it is all too enjoyable to admit – I can definitely imagine hearing this song on the radio.
So sit back, watch this 8-bit video and rock out. Grab the extended version of “We Come Together” after the video so you can enjoy this song further. You won’t be disappointed.

Rad Music // DEDE
DEDE is the nameĀ of the musical project by Dede Reynolds and Tim Kvasnosky and, oh baby, I think I’m in love! The musical project, from Brooklyn, takes “a fresh approach to nostalgia” by making music inspired by “a shared love of Serge Gainsbourg, Nico, fashion, Warhol, trip hop and the South of France circa 1967.”
The first song I listened to, that truly made me weak at the knees (even though I wasn’t standing up), was “This Time.” The track starts with some nostalgic sounds – a muffled snare roll and piercing pluck of a guitar string – that instantly transport you to a decade past. Dede’s sultry yet cute vocals then come in slow, but as you listen you can hear something brewing in the background as the drums differentiate up to an amazing release of sound that ends up being the chorus. This is where I lost it – I became completely enveloped in euphoria. The retro organs, the encapsulating vocals – it makes you feel like you’re floating.
Now that you have been seduced by the sounds of DEDE, check out the video for their song “Secrets” to be hypnotized by some visuals. Directed by Aron Kantor, this video should seal the deal. DEDE is rad and you know it.
Definitely keep your eyes and ears peeled for more from DEDE. I know I will.

Rad Video // Metronomy – “The Look”
I have been enjoying this song so much lately. I’ve been meaning to share, but now that the song got the video treatment I’ve got to.
Metronomy is the band and the song, “The Look,” is off their upcoming album, The English Riviera (which I will definitely pick up). The tracks I’ve heard from it thus far are really fun and playful and, of course, dance floor friendly. So much good music this year. What a joy!
