Electronica in the Spotless Mind
One of my favorite movies is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. As depressing as the film can get, I often return to it for its comforting themes and soundtrack to die for. I could listen to the song “Phone Call” on repeat all day and be more than appeased. The grainy loop matched with orchestrated strings make for a soothing and tranquil sound so unique you can’t help but slip into a daydream or two.
Apparently, I’m not the only one who takes a liking to the dreamy soundtrack of ESotSM. Jay Electronica, an underground rapper whom I know little about, decided he was gonna rap over some of the excellence of said soundtrack. I first heard this track on a SK8MAFIA video – check it out below – and as soon as I heard “Phone Call” I knew I had to get my hands on this track.
