Nerdy Apple Bottom – A cop’s wife with a innocent gay 5 year old boy
I usually keep quite about serious stuff like this, but this is too heavy of a story not to share. Amid all the drama of the “It’s Gets Better” campaign, a mother of a five year old boy, who goes by Cop’s Wife on Twitter and runs the blog Nerdy Apple Bottom, admits to the world that she has a gay son. She provided the photo below of her son dressed as Daphne from Scooby Doo. This is what he wanted to do and he was scared to show up at school. The boy is not even in kindergarten and he is already afraid of ridicule from people. In short, the child does not get ridiculed, but rather, the mothers of the other school children ridicule, badger, and harass the Cop’s Wife, the mother of this boy. I find this outrageous and embarrassing for American society. Why can’t we accept the idea of homosexuality? Why is it such a hard idea? Who are we to criticize another person’s desire to love another human being?
I do not think it is rad that this, pre-kindergarten, 5 year old boy is afraid to walk into his classroom, on Halloween no less.
If you have a problem with this, well…I’ll keep that to myself.
Be Rad. Enjoy.
gross!

In my opinion, it is unfortunate you think so. But you are indeed entitled to you own opinion; thank you for taking the time to voice it.

You and Boo are awesome! You guys have my full support. Those moms were out of line, especially in voicing thier opinions in front of li’l Boo when he was already worried. Wherever Boo decides to be on the Rainbow, I’m sure he’ll rock it out, especially with the support he has from you and the rest of the family.

I think you are mistaken. Boo is not my son, nor am I his mother or the article in which I think you are referring. This is just a quick re-cap of said article with a little bit of my own commentary.
