Mundane Mondze Mash-Up 14 // Easter Egg
The internet is going crazy over the latest orgy of sound that is the new Girl Talk album, All Day. I listened to it and it was just one big “meh” to me. Personally, I’m not that into the cluster-fuck style of mash-ups that has made Girl Talk so popular. But, if I were to recommend a mash-up producer, whom I think produces far more superior beats than Girl Talk, it would have to be Easter Egg. His style of production is very similar to Girl Talk, but what I think gives him the upper-hand over Girl Talk is song selection. Pure and simple.
Easter Egg is the pseudonym of the young Nathan Pham. The dude has serious producing skills and his mash-up album, Jackin’ For Beats, is quite the stunner. I’m not sure where you can find it anymore, but it was up for free download for quite some time. Anyway, my favorite song from Easter Egg is easily, “You Don’t Know.” This is for one reason and one reason only. The Strokes. Never have I heard such divine sounds coming from a mash-up. Wait for it and be amazed.
Be Rad. Enjoy.
Yeah, Easter Egg is dope!
