Rad Music // Sky Ferreira – “Everything is Embarrassing”
Sky Ferreira is a 20 year old girl who seems to dabble in a little bit of everything. I remember seeing her Madonna inspired shoot by Mario Testino at the beginning of the year but at the time wasn’t aware she was singer – I just thought she was a model. Well she is a singer and she has a new EP – Ghost – coming out next week. The first single off said EP is “Everything is Embarrassing.” I watched the video (above) and am obsessed with the song as well as crushing on Sky a bit. I mean, how can you not?
The song was produced by Dev Hynes – of Blood Orange and Lightspeed Champion – and Ariel Rechtshaid (I don’t know who he is, but he’s good apparently). Together, the two of them created a slow-beat, polished 80’s track that has me yearning for more. The drum kicks and piano hooks got me immediately and the catchy, although sometimes unintelligible lyrics are perfect. Good production, love inspired lyrics, and an attractive woman – totally obsessed.
