Rad Art // Title Scream

leave a comment »

Title Scream is a nice little website dedicated to cataloging the title screens of 8-bit and 16-bit video games of yesteryear. I’m not sure about you, but I can never get enough video game nostalgia. Seriously though, this is just too rad.

If you so desire, you can follow Title Scream on Twitter and Facebook.

Be Rad. Enjoy.

Rad Art // Dim and Dash

with 2 comments

One of my favourite blogs that I recently started following is The Art Of Manliness. The title of blog  is pretty self explanatory but if you need help with it, it is dedicated to “reviving the art of manliness.” Need I say more?

The wonderful people at AoM just debuted a new comic titled, “Dim and Dash.” To sum it up, this comic is the man version of “Goofus and Gallant.” Now, if you were a rad child like me, you spent your dull hours in the doctor’s waiting room finding the hidden pictures and reading said “Goofus and Gallant” comics in the popular Highlights Magazine (I happily still browse that magazine whenever I come across it). If you don’t know, Goofus and Gallant were used as role models: Goofus always made the wrong choice while Gallant did the opposite, what was right. So here, “Dim and Dash” will be offering exactly the same advice, except with more manly themes and subjects.

Drawn by Ted Slampyak, “Dim and Dash” has already won me over. It is going to be a twice monthly comic and frankly, I can’t wait for another!

Be Rad. Enjoy.

Rad Design // Erik Marinovich

I am reluctant to post this considering the subject manner, but what the hay.

Charlie Sheen inspired typography by Erik Marinovich, this reminds me of something I would have seen on the box art of an old NES game.

New Banksy in San Diego // web exclusive photo

with one comment

UPDATE: Oceanside mural of rat is just that – it’s not a Banksy.

I can rejoice! San Diego has been blessed with a Banksy piece (possibly).

Read about and look at it on the following sites: TMZ,, and SignOnSanDiego.

Check out The Be Rad Blog’s web exclusive photo as well. You won’t find it anywhere else on the web.

So what do you think – real or fake? I’m leaning more towards fake.

Why did he choose to make the “Kite Runner” sign red/orange as opposed to the yellow ones seen in Los Angeles?

I’m used to seeing his rats in black not white. It seems almost too perfect that the wall is black and the rat is white. Questionable right?

The rat seems unfinished does it not?

Just got word that the piece smells like crayons Krylon. I’m not sure if that is his usual medium, but again, questionable.

Isn’t that rat just a “copy” of “Exit Through The Gift Shop’s” cover?

Oh, and it has yet to be confirmed…

Only time will tell.

Be Rad. Enjoy.
