Today, had he not already left this world, Carl Sagan would have been celebrating his 76th birthday. A champion of science and skepticism, Carl Sagan possessed the ability to make these institutions easily accessible and approachable.

Carl Sagan lives on in the hearts of many across the world, but one man, John Boswell, has dedicated himself to a musical endeavor that much like Sagan’s work, is “designed to deliver scientific knowledge and philosophy.” Under the project name Symphony Of Science, Boswell takes clips of spoken dialogue of prominent scientists – Sagan is nearly always present – and uses his skills with Autotune to produce songs not only fun to listen to, but also excellent lessons in scientific philosophy.

The first, and probably most famous of Symphony Of Science’s songs/videos is “A Glorious Dawn.” “Sung” entirely by Sagan (via clips from Cosmos) and featuring a snippet from Stephen Hawking, “A Glorious Dawn” is a optimistic tale of what the world is and the awesome potential it holds.
