Rad Music // Marc Baker – “No Place I’d Rather Be”

I think about blogging a lot. I miss it. I just don’t have the time. Sure, I could probably make some more time, but it’s low on my priority list. I’m writing this right now to distract myself from something more important. Go figure. As I was saying, I think about blogging a lot. Access to new music is so unbelievable in this age of knowledge and there is so much music I want to share with others. Maybe I’ll start blogging more…

Marc Baker – “No Place I’d Rather Be”

Marc Baker seems like a fun guy. He exudes a New Wave aesthetic both in his look and sound. He put out an EP recently. The standout track for me is “No Place I’d Rather Be.” I have been listening to this song nonstop. It is upbeat and poppy in the best of ways. A love song of sorts, the melody will make you think of someone special as you get lost in your movement. It makes me want to dance like I’m part of The Breakfast Club. Feel this groove if you know what’s good for you. You can download it for free from his website.

Rad Music // Private – “My Secret Lover”

There really isn’t anything better than a perfect pop song. Catchy, fun, uplifting – what more could you ask for? I first heard “My Secret Lover” by Private last Friday and I have been playing it incessantly ever since. After just listening for a while, I finally watched the music video and it only fueled my obsession. Whether or not intentional, the song and video pay homage the perfected pop style of Michael Jackson – that’s probably why I like it so much. If this song was by Justin Timberlake it would have been huge in the US – kind of like “Rock Your Body.” I don’t know what else to say other than this song is perfect and I love it. Get on it!

Now if you’ll excuse me,  I’ll be dancing my office chair…
